The Makalu 3 has already found many followers all over the world, pilots who appreciate its forgiving character coupled with high, usable everyday performance and ease of mind. When the DHV (German Hang-gliding Federation) recently re-tested a number of EN A and EN B wings to see if the rumour that some wings were sneaking into these classes in spite of having too demanding flight characteristics, the Makalu3 came out at the top of its class in every aspect, often putting even EN A wings to shame by showing easier and more forgiving reactions to the testing manoeuvres. In fact the L size of the Makalu3 DID pass the EN tests in the A category, but we still think of the wing as an EN B wing in all sizes, not least because both performance and handling place it firmly in that category.
